Adrian, Georgia

I never know how many of you and who really feels up to checking over at that other website, when there's so much to read here and everywhere else on the internet, but I posted something the other day that I've worked on for a long time, been pondering on for a long time (at least it's been wriggling in the back of my head since last summer, providing a shining moment of goodness on almost every journey I've taken in the last six months), so I figured one or two people over here might want to give it a look see.

I hope no one is thrown off or given a bad taste by the contemplation of religion; no, I'm not turning into a zealot or a Christian. But I think that there's something more to religion, even the old Southern kind, than a lot of people think.

[Note to those who've already been there, but were curious about some of the geography: I went through and added the locations tonight.]

*

It was divine to see everyone I did down there these past three weeks. I miss you all terribly.

New York is cast in a haze of mist, and today from the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge I couldn't tell where Manhattan began or ended, or how far the skyscrapers could reach.

Bo's sleeping and I'm going to join him.

A few important announcements:

Rob and I are looking for a new housemate! Kristin's boyfriend got transferred to Chicago, and she's hoping to move out between Dec. 5-15th. If you've been here, you know, this house rules, the neighborhood is beautiful and still right in the midst of town, and the room is just a bit smaller than mine, but still has the enormous closets, hardwood floors, and two picture pretty windows. If someone we know is looking for a fabulous room around that time frame, it would prevent me from having to email these dozen craigslist people back.

(Awesome applicants so far: a British spambot, an opera singer and sometimes actor, a gay 21-year-old from Valdosta who now manages a Walgreen's so his crazy party days are over, a Supply Chain Professional (???) who has a chocolate lab, and someone whose period key on his keyboard is totally broken.)

a few house pics )

Also: I'm watching DuckTales. (Whooo ooh ooh.) Yes, you're jealous, I know.

a cordial invitation [08 Mar 2005|06:01pm]

Yep, I'm going to be on stage talking about my hoo ha. The show is amazing, in my opinion—uproariously hilarious, sad and painful, empowering, enlightening. If you've never seen it, you are missing out, and if you've seen it before, this year's interpretation is wilder, more intimate, and hopefully just as powerful as the incredible girls who've preceded us.

In addition to all that: you'll be helping to raise awareness and funds to end violence against women and girls in Atlanta and around the world.

And I would love to see you!

So, I've been lured into making more of you cool people friends and shit. But really, no one should be obligated to "friend" me, as my goal is to make this my last post ever.

I just like having a freaking user icon!

And now a friends page.

La di da.
